Good afternoon lovelies! How did your morning go?! Mine was great- I totally dominated my first psych exam! I hoped I would… I studied 4.5 hours for it yesterday!
I have two hours between classes and then I’m done for the week! Hooray! This is the first weekend where I have ZERO plans. #sleepingin
I’ve been here for (almost) a month and I haven’t given you an update on my fitness yet!
Like I said before, there’s a small but functioning gym downstairs in my dorm. Which is fantastic to have! Since I took this picture, they added a pretty nice treadmill!
I have been going to that gym 6-7 days per week, doing 20-50 minutes of cardio and/or a circuit working. Lifting has definitely fell by the wayside, but I think I like my body without bulging muscles. So I’m not complaining! I usually hit the gym between 1-3 pm each day depending on when my class gets out.
My “go to” workout here is 10 minutes each on the elliptical, treadmill, and stairstepper. I do an extra 10+ minutes on one or two of the machines, depending on my energy and some bodyweight exercises are thrown in too!
Sometimes I make the 0.5 mile trek to the big campus gym when it’s not too cold/rainy/insert other excuse here. Haha! I’m generally happy using what I have downstairs, so I don’t go to that gym very often.
I’m very happy to report that I’m not caring very much about the calorie burn either! The machine’s calorie counts that they give me are DEFINITELY not accurate and I rarely remember to put on my Polar. When I do, these are what I get…
I’ve been burning on average 500 calories a workout and I haven’t hit 800 calories yet. Which is a huge difference from 2 years ago! However, I hardly exercise for over 50 minutes and it’s usually between 30 and 40!
I don’t have a scale and the only one that’s somewhat accurate is the one in the big gym, which I’ve used twice. According to it, a week and a half ago I was 128.5 pounds which is a loss of 1.5 pounds. I doubt I’ve lost anything since then (if anything I’ve gained) because that darn ice cream in the dining hall is so tempting (and my roommate and I went grocery shopping yesterday and I bought food so I can actually eat in my room again).
So that’s that! You’re now caught up on my exercising at college
What’s your go-to exercise routine?
When do you workout?
